Where does this Adventure start?
This Adventure starts in Guican in Boyacá. We will pick you up at the last bus stop in Guican or at your Hotel in Guican if you were there already.
How do I get to Cocuy?
From Bogotá:
The only option is by Bus at the Salitre Bus Terminal. There you will find two Bus companies: Libertadores and Paz del Río. They depart every 30 minutes to Guican, therefore we recommend to either buy the ticket one day before at the Salitre Bus Terminal (there are not online purchases) or you can arrive 1 hour before to the Salitre Bus Terminal and buy the ticket (not advisable during high season).
This is an overnight bus as it takes around 10 hours, so we recommend to take the 9pm bus so you arrive before 8am in the little town of Guican, where we will be waiting for you. The ticket costs about $70.000 COP (around 20 USD) each way.
We can help you out booking bus tickets. When requesting the Tour, let us now through the form at “Any further information?” box.
Is there mobile service in the place?
There is service but it is not stable and there may be failures. The best operators are Claro and Movistar.
Do we climb to the snow?
For now the authorities of natural parks and communities of Cocuy are not allowing visitors to approach the snow in order to protect the glacier. However we see it from a short distance and have access to other spectacular views within the mountain
