Are you ready to experience one of the wildest and most thrilling adventures near Medellín? The Rafting and Hiking Expedition in Río Verde is the perfect journey for those seeking raw nature, unlimited excitement, and landscapes that look straight out of a movie. It all begins at Hotel Masaya Medellín, where we’ll meet to start an unforgettable trip to one of the hidden gems of eastern Antioquia.
From Medellín, we’ll travel in private transportation to a remote area surrounded by mountains and forests. There, we’ll switch to 4×4 vehicles to continue along rural roads until we reach the start of the trail. Accompanied by a professional bilingual guide and a support team with pack mules carrying the gear, we’ll begin a scenic downhill hike of approximately 1.5 hours. This trek is an experience in itself—lush nature, birdsong, and panoramic views that completely disconnect you from the city.
Once we arrive at Río Verde, you’ll get to refresh yourself with a swim in its crystal-clear waters before beginning the descent. After a detailed safety briefing and training session, the rafting begins on one of the most pristine rivers in Colombia. For over 3 hours, you’ll paddle through vegetation-covered canyons, leap from rocks into natural pools, and navigate class III and IV rapids under the guidance of expert safety kayakers.
Midway through the journey, we’ll stop at a hidden riverside beach where you’ll enjoy a delicious picnic lunch. This is the perfect moment to relax, feel the cool river breeze, and take in the stunning surroundings. The tour also includes chances to swim under waterfalls, capture breathtaking photos, and simply surrender to the magic of the place.
After this intense and transformative day, we’ll hike back up to the starting point to board our transport and head back to Hotel Masaya Medellín.
