A FULL DAY TOUR AT VILLA DE LEYVA MAGIAL TOWN!

Visit a jewel of colonial architecture and the flagship town of handicrafts in Colombia!

Declared a national monument in 1954, this magical town, located 3-4 hours from Bogotá, is a jewel of colonial architecture, some date it back to 1572.

This tour is a journey through time, it is an encounter with history, science, ceramics, archaeology, art and culture. We will pick you up at your Hotel/Hostel and we will make a stop along the way so you can have breakfast on your own near the Sisga Dam and the Boyacá Bridge, where the final battle of Colombian independence occurred.

Once we arrive in Villa de Leyva we will visit the Plaza Mayor (it is the second largest colonial square in the Americas!) on a Free Tour and after it we will visit the Paleontological Museum (included) which has a wide exhibition of fossils of the region, it will surprise you! And if you prefer, you have the transfers included between the Ostrich Farm, the artificial lakes of the Blue Wells or the famous Terracotta House, one of the most photogenic places in the area.

Without a doubt this is a very picturesque Day Tour through the landscapes of Boyacá, the clean colonial architecture of the houses and the perfect climate for a cultural day. Join this colonial journey!

Recommendations

  • Water or your preferred form of hydration. You’ll be walking briefly in the destinations and you may feel thirsty.
  • Comfortable shoes. You’ll walk on some cobblestoned streets, not very compatible with high and uncomfortable heels.
  • Comfortable clothes. No pressure to look amazing, feel free to wear what makes you feel better.
  • Keep your friends close, and your belongings even closer. The towns could be crowded, so don’t give papaya!

Is there a minimum number of participants to book any Shared Tour?

Each Shared Tour starts with a minimum of 2 people. If you reserved for 1 person only, wait for our confirmation. We will do our best to join you in a group!

Can I choose the departure time and return time of my tour?

Our Shared Tours have a set departure time. Once you have made the reservation, we will indicate the pick-up time at your Hostel/Hotel/Airbnb. The return time is subject to the road conditions on return.

Will the guide accompany me at all times?

For our Shared Tours with more than 3 participants, you will have one of our guides who will accompany you throughout the tour, from start to finish.

Are the shared tours bilingual?

Most of our Shared Tours are monolingual. In case of having participants whose mother languages are not the same, the guide will share the information in bilingual mode so that everyone can learn and enjoy the experience.

From what age do children have to pay?

All children occupying a chair/spot must pay. We will give you a discount for each child who participates in any Shared Tour.

Attention: if you are traveling with a minor between 0 and 6 years of age, keep in mind that by Colombian regulation you must have a “child seat”. If you don’t have it, we can help you get it for an extra cost.

Do you provide a time and place for lunch?

During our Shared Tours you have space for lunch as long as this time is agreed with the driver, the guide and the other tour participants.

Do you have discounts for business groups or large groups?

The bigger the group is, the bigger the discount! Contact us with the tour reservation request and we will give you all the information plus a discount for the size of the group!

Is there a discount for having done the Free Tour?

We love our travelers Beyonders! If you want to take one of our Shared Tours and you previously did one of our Free Tours, get 10% by booking only through our website. Complete the respective reservation form and tell us in comments which Free Tour you took!

Can we pay in dollars?

For any Shared Tour you can pay with your credit card in your local currency, or in dollars only if it is in cash. When booking your Shared Tour, write us your payment method to send you the instructions

Is there a toilet stop?

All of our Shared Tours have a bathroom stop. And if you need an additional stop, tell our driver who will help you!

What should I bring for a Shared Tour?

For our Shared Tours we recommend that you bring a good jacket, comfortable shoes, camera, sunglasses, sunscreen and all the attitude! If the weather is not at its best, you can bring extra clothes for change and leave them with our driver in the transport.
