Tour Description
From the InterContinental Cali Hotel we will begin a unique experience that will take you to discover the vibrant and colorful world of birds at the famous Kilometer 18, one of Colombia's most renowned birdwatching destinations. From there, we will board our private transportation for an approximately 40-minute drive to the mountains of Valle del Cauca, where the mist and the greenery of the forests herald the entrance to a magical ecosystem: the cloud forest.
Upon arrival, we will enjoy a typical regional breakfast, ideal for refueling before beginning our exploration. Accompanied by an expert bird guide, we will enter a private sanctuary, a peaceful and protected space that has become a true birdwatching paradise. Here, with the help of binoculars and the knowledge of your guide, you'll be able to observe iconic species such as the multicolored tanager, the long-tailed hummingbird, the emerald toucan, as well as a variety of migratory birds that arrive from distant places.
The experience is not only visual but also sensorial: the birds' songs blend with the murmur of the forest and the cool mountain mist, creating a perfect environment to disconnect from your daily routine. Kilometer 18 is considered a strategic point within the "bird capital of the world," and you'll have the opportunity to learn about the importance of these ecosystems, the interaction between flora and fauna, and the fundamental role birds play in nature conservation.
After several hours of observation, connection, and wonder, we'll return to the vehicle to begin the return journey to Cali. We ended the experience back at the InterContinental Hotel, feeling the satisfaction of having explored a magical place, having learned firsthand about the region's natural wealth, and with memories filled with colorful images that will remain forever etched in your heart.
